Shantadurga Devi Temple is situated at Mhapan village of Vengurla taluka in the district of Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, India. The festival of Shri Shantadurga Devi is celebrated with great enthusiasm on the day of Chaitra Padwa i.e. Gudhi Padwa.
The village deity of Mhapan village, which is blessed with amazing natural beauty, is also known as Shantadurga. The Koularu temple of the goddess is located on the road leading from Nivati Beach to Mhapan.There is a large Varul (Anthill) in the temple premises and you can see the beautiful mask of the goddess on it. The Gudhi Padwa festival celebrated in this temple has a rich tradition of many years. Sancharrupi Dadre is the main feature of this festival and during this program, there is a huge crowd in the temple premises. During this festival, which is celebrated in a unique way, devotees from all over the state come to Mhapan village to have darshan of the goddess.
