Devi Navadurga Temple, Redi, Vengurla

    Shree Devi Navdurga Devasthan is in Kanyale Vadi of Redi Village. The Terekhol fort is close by here. Devi Navadurga is the form of Parvati.

    Navdurga is the form of Mahishasur Mardini. This goddess was originally from the village of Gavasi in Goa. But due to the sixteenth century persecution of the Portuguese in Goa, the devotees of that time decided to take the goddess away from Goa and established it at Vengurle Redi.The idol is said to be at least 450 years old.
